A gaze of gold
As calm and soft
As the summer breeze
On a gentle, sunlit day
With a fleeting glance
I have been trapped
Ensnared within twin pools
Of depthless, molten light
Lost in a moment
I feel the touch
Of the golden light of love
Illuminate my soul
And fill my heart
With a sound as sweet
As any summer serenade
Sung by sentimental fools like I
But this moment everlasting
Ends an age too soon
Yet brief bliss has borne
A love untouched by time.
